500 g mince beef
1 onion
1 clove of Garlic (or you can use a tsp of garlic puree)
400 g chopped tomatoes (or passata)
1 Handful of basil leaves
1 tbsp oil
1 medium carrot (optional)
spaghetti
200 g spaghetti (1 handful)
1 tsp salt
1 l water
(Complete the "spaghetti" section halfway through the cooking time of the bolognese itself.)
Bolognese
1Peel and chop the onion. Pour the oil into a large saucepan, then add the onion and crushed garlic. If you are using the carrot, grate and add it now.
2Fry over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until soft. Be sure not to burn the onion though.
3Add the mince beef to the pan and fry until all the mince has turned brown, this usually takes about 7-10 minutes.
4Stir in the canned tomatoes (or passata) and remain at medium heat.
5Tear in the basil leaves and stir well for thirty minutes...
Spaghetti
6Bring a litre of water in a deep pan to the boil. Add a bit of salt.
7Add the spaghetti and wait until soft. When you can stir it and the pasta moves around easily, it's done!
